About Us

The Australian Leader in Incendiary Device Technology

Raindance Systems Pty Ltd was founded in Western Australia in 2003. Since then, we have grown to become a major developer and global supplier of aerial incendiary device technology.

In recent years, we have experienced strong growth in the Australian, United States, and Canadian markets, where the growing rate and intensity of bushfires has resulted in the need for greater fire control and prevention technology.

Raindance Systems is an industry leader in the development of incendiary device technology in Australia. Our products are currently used exclusively by the Western Australian Department of Environment and Conservation (formerly CALM) and we have acquired over 80% of the market share Australia-wide.

Raindance Systems’ products are also used by Sierra Pacific Industries, a leading private forest company in the US that owns or manages 1.7 million acres of forest in California.

Safe & Reliable Aerial Ignition Equipment

Raindance Systems’ Australian-made aerial ignition equipment is renowned for its safety and reliability. Our incendiary devices are compliant with Australian regulations and feature unique data logging (GPS) technology for improved safety and reliability. Our incendiary devices have proven to be extremely effective in fixed wing planes, helicopters, and unmanned remote controlled aircraft.

Raindance Systems is a member of the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC). Our head office is located at Jandakot Airport – 1D Eagle Drive, Jandakot. For further information, email info@raindancesystems.com.au or phone (08) 9417 8680.

Capsules

Incendiary Capsules

Our Incendiary Capsule system is unique in many ways. We make all our Incendiary Capsules in-house, ensuring quality control throughout the manufacturing process. Each box of Incendiary Capsules contains 1000 capsules joined together into a Capsule Belt. This results in a compact box 300 mm x 300 mm x 150 mm (12” x 12” x 6”), weighing only 2.2 kg (4.8 lbs.)

Due to all the Incendiary Capsules being joined together, the likelihood of jamming is reduced to being negligible. The box system utilizes a reel and axle to facilitate the easiest flow (and reduction of friction) of the Capsule Belt from the box to Raindance machine. A flap inside the capsule box ensures that the reel is under constant load, so tangling and jamming are eliminated. The material selected to seal the capsule is extremely adhesive, even in humid environments, plus thin enough that when injected it will not affect the function of the injection needle, even after many thousands of capsules.

Fireproof Bags

All Incendiary Capsules Boxes intended to be carried in the cabin of an aircraft should be enclosed in an available fireproof capsule bag which also allows them to be secured for flight.

Raindance Purple Catalyst

Recent changes in the manufacturing of potassium permanganate by the main worldwide manufacturers have left the traditional catalyst of ethylene glycol extremely fast and unpredictable. Due to this, we have developed our own specific catalyst that brings back the stability and predictability of the reaction required of an incendiary device. This catalyst also adds substantial firepower to the Incendiary Capsule.

Raindance Purple Catalyst is only for use with Raindance Incendiary Capsules. This catalyst is suitable only for Incendiary Capsules displaying a purple label marked with ‘WARNING Only Raindance Systems Purple Catalyst is to be used with these Capsules’, or an unsatisfactory reaction may result.

R3 Aerial Incendiary Device

The R3 Aerial Incendiary device is the latest iteration of our innovative incendiary devices. With it brings additional enhancements designed to give you greater peace of mind and operational success.

R3 Aerial Incendiary Device comes with solid safety systems such as:

Shutdown

The ability to completely isolate the Glycol system from delivering – meaning safe ferrying between operations and safer choices for operators in any type of situation.

Stop Button Redundancy

Two ‘Stop’ buttons on either side of the ‘Go’ button on Hand Controller – Suitable for left or right handedness.

Forward Switch

Allowing Capsule Belt to be loaded when approaching the drop zone, with no chance of an accidental firing of primed incendiaries.

Reverse Switch

Now Capsule Belts can be removed entirely, effectively “unloading” the device.

Simplicity

After the Incendiary Capsule Belts have been loaded, operational functions (setting Drop Rates, changing to Manual mode etc.) can all be controlled from the Hand Controller.
